Xenophobia is indeed a huge complexity in our country at large, and it is important for each and everyone of us to try and curb it. I highly propose the motion of curbing Xenophobia and I think such blogs will make a huge difference in ending Xenophobia in South Africa.
ReplyDeleteIndeed, the message of this issue must be preached outreach.
DeleteThese thing of xenophobia is destroying our country, people are walking with fear. We are all human being despite the color of our skin nor the country in which we belong.
ReplyDeleteWe are indeed not being defined by our skin color but our capabilities.
DeleteWe live in a country that promotes unity but we treat foreigners in an unlawful manner, we tend to forget the concept of ubuntu. xenophobia is a critical issue and the law should take action and try by all means to stop this heartless act towards foreigners.
ReplyDeleteIndeed gone are those days, were we would tolerate such issues; our grand parents died fighting for liberty; hence we also stand against it.
ReplyDeletewe now live in democratic days where everyone has rights, i mean its the 21st century. we should be united.
ReplyDeleteI am reminded of the former president of Republic of South Africa, Thabo Mbeki when he says on his speech, "South Africa of all colors and background respiration" indeed Equality is needed in our country.
ReplyDeleteI'ts now time to implement the quotes from our leaders, put words into action and demonstrate change within our societies.
DeleteWe are one humanity My country is beautiful. We say “umuntu ngumuntu ngabantu” – a person is a person through other persons. I envision an Africa without borders. Why are we fighting one another based on our differences? Is it that we are steeped in anger, poverty and power struggles not corrected in 22 /23 years of democracy? Why are we oppressing people who were our helping hand when we needed places to hide? We call them “makwerekwere.” This is a subtle word we use in our circles suggesting the attacks are acceptable. Be careful, South Africa, not to become the beasts that you once defeated.
ReplyDeleteBack to the basics of liberation.
DeleteIn my point of view I think Xenophobia is an obstacle for greater things because it limits people I'm many different ways and as public Relations practitioners it is our duty to deal and help solve the issues that result from Xenophobia, because this issue is also found inside the work place which ends up creating an environment that favours some people because they are from that specific country ,I feel South Africa has to teach its citizens more about the disadvantages that Xenophobia has on a country and its level production and development .
ReplyDeleteIndeed its our duty to reduce the level of stigma.
DeleteWE are all foreigners because we like to travel and explore things, so we must respect foreigners they are African/black brothers.
